Happy spring!

Thank goodness for some warm pretty days last week!  We got out and stayed until dinner time as many days as possible!

I was sitting on the driveway enjoying some powerade and somehow a marker ended up in it.  Hmmmm......wonder who did that?!?

Remember I said Easton is really loving this car?  Well, miss jealousy decided she would ride in it.  She really didn't play with it much when she was smaller!  As you can see, he isn't so sure about this!

She's going in....move over Easton!

Doesn't he look thrilled for his sister to be 1.  in his lap and 2.  in his car?!?!

He may be biting her in this one....oh me, sibling rivalry is bad around here these days!

Oscar was soaking up the rays while they argued!

After a big day outside, we definitely needed baths!  Who says you have to be in the tub?!?!

Warm weather!

There is nothing better than getting up and heading out in the sunshine.  I love doing this each morning that it has been warm!  Thursday, Olivia was at school and Easton and I walked Oscar.  About 5 seconds after this picture he fell flat on his face.  He wants to run fast so badly!  You will get it bud, keep trying.

Back home to enjoy a little car riding and sunshine!  His poor face!  He fell a few days before trying to peep under the garage door that was half way up. Somehow he was standing on his hand and went over face first.  Poor boy!  His coordination isn't quite the best yet!

He loves this little car!

Off to the dentist!

Easton and I had to go get our teeth cleaned last week.  I took Olivia the week before because there was NO WAY I was tackling that project with both of them on the same day.  Olivia had never even gotten hers cleaned!  She has been terrified, but the day she went she loved it!  She started out slow, but warmed up and got all of her teeth cleaned!  She was so proud of herself and I was proud of her, too!  When we left she talked about how she couldn't wait to go back to see them again.  Yay Olivia!

Since I was scheduled to have my teeth cleaned, I had mom go with me to help with Easton.  I got mine done, and then stayed in the chair for Easton to sit on me.  He started out playing with the tools and was quickly over it!  She was able to clean them all quickly and they got a look inside.  It made me feel better to hear that his teeth looked good considering 10 of them are caps!  He couldn't get away from the dentist fast enough.  Mom took him from me, but he held onto the snazzy mirror!

Once I was out of the chair he quickly came back to me and got over himself.  I am sure that is scary especially when you have already experienced so much pain with teeth at such a young age.

Consignment season

Yep, its that time of year again!  I was busy, busy, busy last week finishing up tagging for 15 people.  Thanks to my mom, she and I got it done!  I worked a few nights until 2 or 3 a.m. and then we worked off and on during the day.  I tried for it to not interrupt my time with Easton and Olivia, but the last week, push comes to shove and I had to work!  I know it doesn't look like a ton, but it is a very layered pile!  The gear is pictured under this first picture and it spread to the other side of the garage.  Trash bags full of shoes, bibs, and other baby items all ready to go.

4 truck/suv/car loads later, it was delivered, sorted and ready for the sale!  I got to shop yesterday and got some great stuff!  I love this sale and seriously feel like its the best one in Middle Tennessee!!  Check it out if you are local!  It is called Hooked on Consignment.

RIght where I need to be!

I unfortunately missed my favorite conference, Created4Care this year.  I love this weekend and it is so good for me as well as my family.  The group I usually ride with was going to be gone for more than I felt that I should be so I was going to drive myself.  I didn't think that I needed to be away from home (at this point with Easton) for 4 days and 3 nights.  Typically that is the norm for us, but this year, I couldn't do it.  I decided I would just drive down once I put him down for nap on Friday and get there Friday evening.  I would soak up all of my adoptive mama friends all day Saturday and leave super early Sunday to be home before he woke up from nap.  On Wednesday night, I just didn't feel like it was what I needed to do.  With me going back to work soon, I feel like I need to get every second with both kids!  He knows I am someone familiar at this point, he knows I am safe, he knows that I will care for him, BUT he doesn't know I am mom and he doesn't know I am forever.  He still feels incredibly insecure.  I needed a sign.  I decided I  would sell my ticket and if it sold quickly then it was meant for me to stay home.  If it didn't sell before the night was over Wednesday night (this was around 7:00 pm that I was making this deal with myself) then God was telling me to pack a bag!  The ticket sold in less than an hour of me posting it.  That was it....I wasn't going anymore.  I hated the thought that I would miss out, but knew that I got my answer.  I was still in search for a 'sign.'  Well, around 3:00 a.m. I got a clear sign.  Maybe too clear!  John was sick as a dog!  He hasn't been this sick in years!  He returned to work on Friday, but barely made it.  He was tired and sore.  I was so glad I decided to stay home.  As Olivia and I enjoyed her "quiet" time watching Paw Patrol, I glanced at the monitor to see our little guy snug as a bug.

(side note..  I had the front and back doors open, so it may have been warmer than normal, but the temperature thing said 72 when I looked upstairs.  This one must be wrong!  76---that's crazy!  We like 68-70 around here.)

I knew he could have made it, but it would not have been fun for anyone.  By Saturday he was feeling better and we enjoyed the sunshine and warm weather.  (A bit different from the snow earlier in the week!)  After gymnastics, we had a picnic on our porch, a trip to target, naps, playtime outside and dinner out with great friends!  Can't ask for a better day!! Did I miss C4C?  YES!!!!  I may or may not have stalked them all on Facebook over the weekend to see updates!  If any group of mama's understand why I needed to be here after 6 weeks of our boy being home, it would be this group though! I can't wait to see those mama's, but I know for a fact I was where I was meant to be for the weekend!

I love how Oscar has somewhat of a worried look!

Are you sure about this??

It is fun!!  Thanks Olivia for being a great big sister!

They made it!!

Whew!  They got me down, too!

Laundry room

It is no secret that I love color!  I cannot stand a boring house, so after my accent wall (ahem, 8 different colors before choosing the one I loved), John said it would be a while before he took on anymore of my projects.  That's fine, I said!  I took on the laundry room all on my own!  I taped it off and got most of the first coat and edging done.  Apparently it looked pretty crappy because John finished it up!  Next on my list is the upstairs bathroom!  He is much better at rolling paint than I am.  I just don't have that talent!  I do love how the color turned out!  Olivia got to help and had a blast!!!  Three coats later and the laundry room looks great with the rest of the colors in the house.  This color is in my window treatments and I thought a fun pop would look good in there.

Pots and pans

What are you talking about John, they aren't in the cabinet with the pots and pans out!  John is trying so hard to get Easton to stay out of the cabinets, but they snuck in a few minutes of fun after Olivia and I had been painting.  Easton is pretending he is drinking something from his hands, but Olivia went straight for the pot!

So silly, this kid!

 Monkey see, monkey do!

We are SO READY FOR WARM WEATHER!!!!  I have pulled out all the stops here at this house.... I am all out!

Snow day

The weather called for some great snow here last week.....we didn't have enough to play in, so we stayed in and made some St. Patrick's day artwork.  Olivia and I made two things.  I had planned on letting Easton make one, but decided that was a bit ambitious!  He played in the pots and pans instead!

I love that she enjoys making crafts with me.  Her little fingerprints make the rainbow and her feet, obviously, make the shamrock!  Who needs snow?!?! She joined her brother with the pots and pans after crafting with me.  They made some great noise!

A ROARing good time!

Last Sunday morning, Olivia and John decided it would be funny to hide from Easton.  He was quickly on to their game and went looking for them!

He politely went over to the closet door where he could hear them laughing.  He knocked a few times....

Out they popped with a LOUD ROAR!!!!

Easton thought this was HILARIOUS!!!
This picture is the best I could get of a giggling boy running toward me!

Oscar didn't see what all the fuss was about!  They are still in the closet here, but Easton had wondered around the corner to look for them.  Silly boy!

All boy!!

What more can you say other than all boy!!!  He thinks the two fingers are hilarious!  He laughed so hard that he fell over.  Amazing how different my two kiddos are!

Consignment season

It is here again!  Consignment season has started.  I am VIP tagging again, and have called in my ever so faithful troops!  I want to get done ASAP because I don't want to spend my maternity leave tagging, so I am working as quickly as I can.  We have worked mostly Tuesday's and Thursday's because Olivia is at Mother's Day Out.  We start around 10:30 or so and work until the end of nap time.  So it only cuts into a couple of hours of kiddo time.  Luckily, Buppy came to play one day last week to give us a few extra hours to work.  Since it was Wednesday, Olivia was home.  Easton is happy playing on his own, but Olivia hasn't quite figured that out yet.  A little dress up, painting and legos....those two are a pair.  Olivia loves her Buppy so much!  I am quite sure we all do!!!  Thanks for playing, Buppy!

First word

Not the normal word that we would have expected, but Easton is clearly saying, "rock."  He tries to say other things, but he is just babbling ALOT for the most part.  As my parents keep reminding me...if I had been in Korea for a month and a half I wouldn't be speaking much either!  He definitely is showing good receptive skills, and I hope his expressive come soon.

The word rock came from his favorite book.  I love this author and Olivia use to love for us to read this book to her as well.  I don't even need to look at the words in these books anymore.  We read them that much!!!

First haircut

A couple weeks ago, Nana came over to trim Easton's hair.  She has retired, so she comes to us now!!  Easton's hair was short to begin with when coming home, so we didn't bother it.  I know some of the people we met in Korea got haircuts first thing when they got back.  Easton's hair has grown in some spots over the last month, so we called Nana to come fix it.  It had grown over his ears and was looking rough on his neck line.  Let's just say he didn't love it!!  Go figure....

He seemed just unsure at first....

And then it started.  She didn't trim much because he was so terrified!  Good thing he didn't need much cut!

 Done!!!  And happy again!
