Sleep anyone?

When you ask Olivia how old she will be when she sleeps in her bed, her current response is, "when I 40!"

This is the space on a normal night of how much room I get once Olivia joins our room.  Thank goodness Easton sleeps in his own bed!  Gee, I don't know why I am tired?!  We tried her toddler bed when she came to us last night since she came so early, but she was beside herself upset and honestly I just wanted to go back to sleep.  Up in the bed she came!  John told her she had to keep her head on her pillow.  She did, but he didn't mention the rest of her body!  With all this extra room and all the kicking this kiddo does, I am beat.  I honestly don't know how to get her to STAY in her bed.  At least she typically stays until 1:00 a.m.! Baby steps I guess.

Adeline is two!

Last Saturday we celebrated Adeline turning two!!!  This year it was a watermelon theme!

I really liked how the banner turned out this year.

Olivia and I celebrated by having watermelon toes!

I was happy to get a pic of the four of us since I managed not to get one on Olivia's birthday.

The kids played on the playground a bit before dinner.

Easton was happy playing as long as he had his chips!

The birthday girl and her daddy.

Ready for cake!!

Easton spotted it and over he came to get his piece!

mmmmmm!!!

Presents....and a lot of help!

Hey!  Where did you get that?!

Let me take a closer look!

Adeline was less than happy when Easton tried to take her change pouch!  "No, EE!"

What's in here?!

A little more play time while we cleaned up.  Look at this kid climb!!  He went up and down over and over!

She had a blast playing with the 'big' kids!

Happy birthday Adeline!  What a great party.  I can't wait to see what being 2 brings.  We love you!

Happy 4th of July!

As I type this, I have two kiddos in the bed and I can still hear fireworks going off.  For some reason, the 4th of July is a holiday that I seemed to miss Easton more before he was home.  I have had the outfit that he wore yesterday for 2 years!  It was one of the first things I let myself buy when we were waiting for him.  It was super clearanced out and I just knew he would be home by the following summer....add on another year and here we are!  Yesterday didn't quite turn out as planned, but it was a fun day.  I knew Easton had not seemed like himself, but couldn't pin point why.  He had a little temp, but not long.  He was just whiny and hadn't really eaten much which isn't like him.  He loves to eat!  I narrowed it down to teeth, ears or throat.  Our plans for the 3rd were to go eat at my parents and then meet up with friends at the local fireworks.   I wanted to be sure it wasn't another ear infection since we always sit close.  I figured the noise would really hurt if it was his ears.  With that, I made a doctor appointment.  As I waited (over an hour) for the doctor I questioned why we were there.  He was laughing, happy and seemed normal.  His eyes seemed brighter than they had in two days.  I did notice a white spot on his tonsil when he was belly laughing, but I am not a doctor. ;)  Finally, he came in and after looking him over, he concluded that he has hand, foot and mouth.  UGH!  Well, happy 4th, right??!!!  I knew fireworks were out.  I called my mom and she told us she had bought the food to come on!  I was just going to have John take Olivia over because I knew she wanted to see Annelyn.  I called my sister and she also seemed ok with us coming so I decided we would all join.  Apparently I read her voice wrong.....she never put Adeline down as long as Easton was around.  I can't say I blame her.  It is very contagious.  Mom and dad's neighbor came to eat dinner which I didn't know when we decided to go over, but I don't think it is as contagious for adults as it is for kids (unless you are pregnant).  After a yummy dinner, we loaded up and went a street over to the neighborhood fireworks.  No traffic, no huge crowd and great fireworks.  In some of these pictures below, you will see why I questioned him feeling bad.  However, today he has felt worse.  He has been super whiny and slept for 2 1/2 hours.  A typical nap for him is no more than 45 minutes!

Blankets on the 4th....and not just to sit on!!!  I don't think I have ever felt any form of chilly/cold on the 4th of July!  This weather feels like early spring or fall!  We better soak it up while it lasts, the humidity will be back soon, but this sure is nice!

Such a gorgeous day!  I think I could have been outside all day!  Unfortunately, this was short lived.  Since Easton didn't feel his best, we ended up coming in, getting lunch, and then him napping.

Oscar is loving this weather!  He was soaking up some rays!

.....and this is why we didn't last long outside.  He has had this face way more than that cute smiley face the last few days.  Poor kiddo!  Hoping he feels better tomorrow.

Before heading to Mammy and Buppys for dinner, we did some crafting.

Olivia made fireworks!

Easton's first handprint craft.  Oh my heavens....I deserve a medal for this!  I would put paint on his fingers and he would roll them.  I tried his foot next and he giggled so much, because he is crazy ticklish, that the paint dried before I could get his whole foot painted.  So, I stuck a pole on the side of this one and called it done.  I decided it looks like it is blowing upward.

Happy 4th!!!  Even though Easton was sick, it sure was great to have him home to watch fireworks this year!  I have two amazing kids!   I am so lucky!

Party like a 5 year old!!

This was our first party to have at a place rather than at home.  I typically have birthday parties in the late afternoon so that I have the entire day to prep.  Nope, this year I felt ambitious apparently.  She had her party at her gymnastics place from 2-4.  That meant I had to get in gear and be ready.  Surprise, surprise....this was the first party that all decorations were out, food was out and I had showered and was present!  WOW--landmark day in and of itself here people!  I think this birthday was by far her favorite!  She had a BLAST!

I think her banner turned out cute this time.  It is suppose to look like lego pieces put together to spell her name. :)

The cake not only looked JUST like the Olivia house of Lego friends, but it tasted AMAZING!

LOTS of presents!

Free play while guests arrived.  These girls have so much fun together!

Getting rules/directions from Coach Lisa.

Keegan is great on the bars!

Hard to believe that we have been friends for 30 years!  I love that our kids are close in age!  I love even more that their family reunion occurs the same weekend as Olivia's party which means KK was in town!

Two of her sweet friends from PDO.

She is getting really good at climbing the rope!

She loves her Buppy SO much!!!

Easton had been whining over the chip bowl for a bit.  John's sister, Amy, asked if he could have one.  Of course he can!  John handed him the biggest one in the bowl....apparently that was the one he had been eying, and it made for one happy boy.

We sure do love our friends Ashley and Ryan.  They love my sweet kiddos, too!  So grateful for them!

Sweet Ella!

Olivia took over the camera for a few minutes!

Cake time!  No cake for her....just the fondant umbrella.

A little lunch/snack.

I had not thought about it, but leave it to a kid to decide to build with the legos in the centerpieces.  I thought it was a great idea!

Forget the legos on the tables....Adeline went for the ones that were already built!

More playtime.

This kiddo just makes me smile.  She is so fun!

Sweet friends!

Oh me!

We decided to wait and open presents for when we got home.  Olivia got really shy when everyone sang happy birthday, and doesn't really do well with large crowds watching her.  So, I decided to let her take them home to open them.  As everyone was leaving and we were cleaning up, I turned around to see paper flying and kiddos laughing.  Thank goodness for Ashley on writing down what she got and Danyell for taking pics.  Gratious, what would I do without my friends. As they did that, my friend Amy and Mammy helped clean everything up.

She is one excited girl about this gift!  Her little hands are at her face and she squealed!!

Buppy was assigned door duty.  He was to be sure each child got their favor as they left.

We were cleaned up and done by 4:30.  We headed home and unloaded the cars.  I had an hour and a half to get ready for party #2.  This was our family party this year.  We also invited some of our neighbor friends that Olivia plays with regularly.  I love this.  Last year we had just moved in and didn't know hardly any of our neighbors.  Now we get to talk and hang out with several of our neighbors.
The intention was to watch Frozen outside, but the kids had so much fun playing that we never got to watch it.

The kids had a blast in the sand box!

I ordered Anna/Elsa and Olaf thinking Olivia would love them.  Come to find out, she was scared of them!  They sat in the kitchen a few days before the party until John carried them upstairs.  They rejoined the day of the party!

The best Mammy in the world!  We are also very grateful for Ms. Linda.  She is part of our family in many ways.

Oscar was thrilled to be at this party.

Olivia doesn't like s'mores, but she sure does love to make them for people!  Thanks Amber for helping her make them all!

One happy boy!

More presents!

Aunt Candy looked at Olivia's cookbook with Easton.  He brought it to her and climbed up in her lap.

 Party favors--build your own Olaf.

I somehow didn't get a picture of the tables that we had set up.  Sad!  I also didn't get a picture of the five of us! (ahem....Oscar!)

Once everyone had gone, Easton was asleep in less than 10 minutes.  Olivia was exhausted, but somehow talked her cousin Amber into going upstairs (to her closet, nonetheless) and making necklaces with her new bead set.  She had an amazing day!  I think we are all still recovering.
