Splish splash.....

They are takin' a bath!!!! Olivia LOVES her bath!  She loves a glow stick bath, but when she asked to have one I said, "yes, but Easton can't have one just yet.  It may scare him too much.  I will bathe you and then bathe him later."  She immediately said that she no longer wanted one that she would rather take her bath with him.  This has been the case for every bath since we got home!!  Easton likes it once he has gotten use to the water and then is mad again when its time to get bathed.  He will get there.....just not a huge fan yet.

This is how every bath (and everything else) starts....time varies on how long it lasts.  For bath it is getting better.  At this point, his diaper hasn't been taken off and he is standing outside of the bathtub here.

5-7 minutes of that above screaming and then you get this.....

Maybe even some happy playtime between them during the bath!

And when its over, success....two clean kiddos and a handsome Oscar!!!

A little craft

Thursday night, I was getting dinner ready and Olivia comes running downstairs saying to John, "I am gonna make a little craft with mommy!"  Seriously, it was quiet for a minute and I was leaving in 45 minutes to go play bunco.  She was so excited and I couldn't dash her hopes!  I got out the paint and taped off, "LOVE" since we hadn't done anything for Valentine's Day yet.

She had a blast!  I love that my girl loves to make crafts.  So simple, but so fun!!  And, believe it or not, dinner was on the table and I was on time to bunco! Ok, maybe 5 minutes past the time, but I wasn't the last one there!

Frozen

Friday we had a surprise for Olivia.  She had had a good week with gymnastics and school.  We didn't tell her what we were doing and as we passed the theater she mentioned how badly she wanted to go see Frozen.

We walked up and got our tickets for Frozen and headed in to get her popcorn and icee.  She was so excited!  We were the only ones in the theatre and it was close to Easton's nap time.  Perfectly planned!  Another non-crowded place for us to go and one happy girl!  Bless her, she still doesn't weigh enough to hold the seat down.  John held his knee on the side of the chair holding it down for her.

Easton loved the popcorn and didn't even notice that anything was on the screen.  I put him in my lap as the movie started and gave him his milk.  He snoozed while we enjoyed the movie.  He was ready to play the last 10 or 15 minutes so I took him out and he ran the halls.  It was empty so it was no biggie.

Awww coconuts!

Olivia says "aww coconuts" quite a bit.  She likes Jake and the Neverland Pirates and Cubby says this all the time.  I figure its better than "crap" or even worse!  So, she and John went to the store and Olivia said, "oh coconuts!" about something.  John asked her if she knew what a coconut was.  They bought one, brought it home and tried it!  That wasn't on my list!
She wasn't a fan of the coconut itself.  She knows I drink coconut milk and eat a lot of things with coconut in it, so she isn't saying that she won't eat it.  She is so good to try things!

VU appointment

Monday was Easton's doctors appointment at Vanderbilt International Clinic.  Olivia stayed at Mammy's house while we went.  As we were heading in, we saw the sweet couple that we met in Korea.  They were there for their appointment for their son.  We checked in together and their name was called quickly.  We waited a few minutes and then we were called back.

Dr. Rothman was running behind so we waited in a conference room and played with some toys and eat a mid morning snack.  Easton didn't seem to mind and it was a nice change of scenery and neither did I.

Dr. Rothman came in and we got started.  She asked some general questions and then answered my list of questions.  We moved to an actual office and she was able to check him out.  Easton wasn't a fan!  He got his TB test and we got our 'poop catcher' and headed on our way.
When we were done, we headed over to the 10th floor for the dreaded bloodwork.  The ladies here insisted that they hold him during it rather than me.  After about 10-12 tubes of blood it was time to head back home to get our sweet girl.

It was a long day, but all in all he did great!  We return next week for some more tests and then hopefully we are done for a while.

Superbowl Sunday

Well, if anyone watched the game, it wasn't much of a game.  John's mom had us all over for dinner and to watch the game.  Easton and Olivia seemed to steal the show though.  Olivia had a tea party, made origami and watched the puppy bowl with her aunt and cousins.  Easton played pots and pans, ate and ate some more.  At one point, the two made a game out of the coke cans.  Bless whoever opens them!  Pretty sure they will spew everywhere!

Let's see how high we can stack the cans before they fall!!!  Easton decides he would rather drink them!

He thinks his big sister is hilarious!!

  A 4 eyed monster!!!

These two are better than any game, any day or any multi-million dollar commercial!  I would much rather be hanging out with them!

Friday Playdate!

Olivia is a love!!  She is beautiful, sweet, smart, funny and sassy.  However, one might not see these qualities in a first meeting if it is a brief meeting.  She is fearfully shy.  She is easily scared and shuts down.  She is an observer before jumping in.  Once she has made up her mind she isn't playing or speaking.....it ain't happenin' folks!  No bribe, joke, punishment, or sweet talk will change her mind.  Let's put it this way, when she first came home and I would tickle her, and she would just stare at me.  This girl is beyond ticklish.  Now, if you look like you are coming at her to tickle her she laughs hysterically.  She doesn't allow people 'in' easily.  I can't blame her, but I want to help her through it!   So.....any mama help here is greatly appreciated.  Add all that in PLUS being a new big sister and this girl has had some rough days.  Heartbreaking I tell ya!
To help her, I have decided that while I am home we can have more play dates!  Olivia LOVES to play and was super excited when I told her I had invited her friend over from school.  I was excited to see how it would turn out, and they had a blast!!!  They played doctor, did some gymnastics, played legos, Doc McStuffins, Sophia, and more!!  These two did amazing all day together!

So glad they had a great day!!!!  Olivia is ready to do it again!

No worries, Easton hung out with me.  The girls didn't want him following them around.  They are big girls ya know!  He decided he has a friend that he had fun sharing snack with.

I laugh at this one because it looks like he is showing him how to open his mouth to get the bite.  Easton laughs hysterically when Oscar takes a bite from him.
