Day 4 and 5 of vacation

After a great day for Olivia with everything done for her, we woke up to mom being sick. Remind you Easton has now been throwing up the last 3 nights. We turned over our puke bucket to mom because she apparently had a terrible case of food poisoning! She made the best of it on day 3 but was down for the count the rest of the trip. We pretty much stayed low key the remaining days.

While at the beach this year, Olivia discovered the boogie board, or as she called it, the booger board. She loved it and could not get enough! I love her adventurous spirit!

Our sweet friends, Ashley and Ryan moved to North Carolina, so instead of heading straight home, we went to their place to spend the night. It was so good to see them and we can't wait to go back! They sure do love our kids! Olivia and Easton love them too!

Happy birthday Olivia!

Basically day 3 of vacation was for Olivia! Anything she wanted to do is what we did and the day was really fun! Easton was feeling better and mom wasn't fully sick yet but didn't eat a bite because she knew her stomach wasn't right...member food poisoning full blown by tomorrow for her. We got up and went to a local donut shop. Then it was present time! I love to watch her open presents these days! Use to she was too shy to open them, but she isn't anymore! We let her open her presents from us and had her wait to open from mom and dad later in the day to make it last longer for her.

We all got ready and headed to the beach!

When it's your birthday you get to walk to the pier with your daddy and get an icee!

After a day at the beach, we headed back to the house and took showers and Olivia opened the rest of her presents.

We had dinner and then she wanted to go play putt putt.

We ended our day with a local ice cream spot. It was delicious! Happy birthday sweet Olivia! I cannot believe you are 7! Mommy and Daddy love you so, so, so much!

Vacation Day 2

We had a rough night with Easton. I could tell he had fever and just didn't feel well. So, we sent everyone off to the beach and I went with him to a minute clinic.

Bless his heart, he felt terrible. His temp was 103 and he was just miserable. After seeing the doctor we left with amoxacillan for his ears. Yep, his ears....again. I decided since he seemed so pitiful to just hang in for the day with him. He slept off and on all day.

After getting some tylenol and a dose of medicine in him as well as a restful day, I decided he could handle going out to dinner. By looking at the picture below, you can't tell he even fells bad or had had such a rough day! Dinner was excellent!   We walked around for a bit trying to find exatly what we wanted to eat without a 2 hour wait. Plus, mom wanted fresh red snapper. I didnt care where we ate as long as there was food other than fish on the menu my group would be fine! We decided on a restaurant and it was very nice. They had homemade hush puppies with a raspberry butter and I had a salad with a watermelon vinagerette! Delicious!!!

(Nope, didn't eat here, but they played on their sign!)

Vacation 2016

Our vacation started off rocky since we left 5 hours later than planned. I just couldn't get it all done that day. I can't leave with a dirty house, and insisted on getting it clean. I also had all the packing to do and last minute store runs. John patiently waited once he got home from work and at 10:30 p.m. we were off for blissful days at the beach (or were we)?! We had hotel reservations but leaving as late as we did we knew we wouldn't make it as far. Our trip total time was 9 hours from home. I knew we wanted to get to the condo around lunch time so John drove all night! We stopped at 6 a.m. at a hotel, slept a few hours and then finished the drive. We arrived mid afternoon and hung out with everyone at the condo for a bit. We then decided to head to the beach. To say that the kids were excited is an understatement!

Everyone else had a big lunch and weren't very hungry so John went to get us CFA and some things at walmart. Two and a half hours later he returned.....
Apparently when you are in a small town everyone goes to Walmart on Saturday night because they need supplies too, who knew?!

Shopkins Party for Olivia

Seven, how in the world is she 7?!? We partied early this year because June 4th was the only available Saturday in June. So we hustled through the end of school and had a great early party! I had one week from the end of school until her party to get it together. She had a blast this year!!! I am SO proud of her. She really came out of her shell and opened her presents while her friends were there and blew out the candles after we sang Happy Birthday! She doesn't like attention directly on her, so I was surprised when she asked to open her presents. She got a ton of great stuff (now to find a place for it all!)!!
I still can't get over that she is 7!

Unfortunately, on our way to get the balloons Saturday she told me her ear hurt. I told her I couldn't do anything about it, and she seemed fine. On Sunday I decided that I would run her over to the doctor and since Easton was also snotty I would just get 2 appts because he probably had an ear infection as well. An hour later we left the doctors office with strep for Easton and an ear infection for both. I asked about her being swabbed and they said her throat wasn't red and she looked great. At 6 p.m. she told me she had a headache. That is her strep sign. I decided to go ahead and take her to an after hours clinic. Strep showed up quickly. I let all 30 of the kids parents know that both of my kids were sick. A few days later, 3 other kids had it. My kids never had fevers and didn't seem sick. It was crazy! I felt terrible for exposing that many people, but all the moms were very understanding.
